Description: Antennas are used in an ever-increasing variety of applications such as radio, TV, telecommunications, radar, astronomy, remote sensing, medicine, and cooking. Such a wide variety of applications requires a wide variety of antenna types each with its own advantages and disadvantages. This course provides a physical and mathematical description of antennas and antenna arrays. Key concepts include how to characterize antenna performance, types of antennas, antenna design tradeoffs, system-level design, and the rudiments of antenna design and antenna design software.
